It’s hard enough describing a band at the best of times, but Star Scream, fronted by renowned London DJ Adam Lightspeed, do an excellent job of making the task doubly hard. If you try to picture the bastard offspring of Marilyn Manson starring in Rob Zombie epic, directed by Tim Burton and scored with a combination of Little Shop of Horrors, Muse and the Manic Street Preachers, you still won’t be half way towards understanding what Star Scream will do to your ears. But you should have an idea of just how intense, exciting and unrelentingly heroic it’s going to be.

At the start of 2011 Star Scream was signed to a Publishing deal by Ellis Rich (founder of the Independent Music Group and Chairman of the Performing Rights Society PRS) after receiving glowing praise from both Ellis and a whole panel of industry experts (including Katherine Melling, A&R Co-ordinator at Universal Music Publishing & Ric Blaxill, the Head of Music for Bauer Media’s Big City Network) at last years City Showcase London.

It’s a testament to the bands talent, drive and dedication that they have been met with success after success right from the very moment they formed – a success in itself. Need evidence? Well for a start the band have toured with glam legends such as Queen Adreena & Rachel Stamp. They were hand selected by Casey Chaos to accompany musical giants Amen, not once, but twice and bested over 700 other bands to play the 10,000 capacity TMF festival. Meanwhile, backed by glowing press reviews, the band’s début EP, ‘Liquid & Pain’ and Single ‘Bedroom Eyes’ both sold out.Since then they’ve continued to fraternise with musical marvels such as Ginger, of The Wildhearts and proved their diverse abilities by dialing back the usual frantic, electro-saturated, rock-fest to play a stunning acoustic set with Ash’s very own Charlotte Hatherley. If that isn’t tribute enough to the versatility and reach of Star Scream’s talent, maybe a 20,000 member strong following of fans can help sway you?More pressingly however, Star Scream’s first album, the musical supernova, “Sexploitation”, is, after years of anticipation, finally ready for release, thanks to the hard work of the band and input from none other than Jon Astley, who’s touch has graced the work of bands from Ash, to Eric Clapton and Tears for Fears, to The Who. It goes without saying that one hell of a lot of musical ability has been compressed into this audio singularity. With an album ready to go and publishing in the bag, Star Scream are now actively looking for the right record label to join forces with and unleash Star Scream on the world.
